We are pleased to announce the addition of a selection of lightweight alloy karabiners to our Treehog range of climbing equipment.

  • THK002 Oval Karabiner

    THK003 Large Karabiner

    THK006 HMS Karabiner

Available in 3 different styles, they all  feature triple action locking gates, (industry standard for arboriculture):a non-snagging nose to eliminate damage to rope and are all rated to 22kN (minimum).

SATRA Tested to EN362B, the Treehog Karabiners also come individually serial numbered as standard, for inspection records and traceability.

The THK002 is an oval karabiner, great for use with most mechanical friction devices, THK006 is a standard HMS shaped karabiner – ideal size for ease of handling, while THK003 is an oversized ergonomic HMS with specifically  shaped lower section for secure rope/ring positioning.

The Treehog Karabiner range is available from our dealer network, or our website:

Product Update: Improvements to Treehog Climbing Irons

Thanks to feedback from end users, we have made some improvements to the best-selling Treehog Climbing Spikes range.

    TH1000 Climbing Spurs

    TH1003 Climbing Spurs

    TH1005 Climbing Spurs

    Top & Bottom Straps:

Your feedback told us that the leather straps we were using, had excessive stretch. While this was good for getting a closely adjusted fit around the foot and leg;  it also meant that the straps tended not to last long enough.

We have now changed the straps to a tough rubber coated webbing material for greater strength and longevity.

    Steel Buckles:

Feedback from a small proportion of end users suggested that the steel buckles on the top and bottom straps needed beefing up a bit.

We took this seriously as the buckles are a vital part of the spike’s safety system, so we have introduced heavier duty buckles on both the top and bottom strap sets.

Both of these improvements are coming though on new production of the Treehog spikes, with no increase in list price.
