Yes. The AT4062(EU) Vented Chainsaw Trousers are fully certified for use within the EU. They meet Design A, Class 1 (20 m/s) protection standards and comply with BS EN ISO 11393-2:2019 and BS EN ISO 13688:2013 + A1:2021, ensuring they meet strict safety and performance requirements for professional chainsaw work.

The overall style and fit are the same as the US certified version. The key differences come from the certification requirements. Because EU certification has stricter rules around the placement of chainsaw blocking material, the waist vents are positioned at the back to ensure they don’t interfere with the protective layers.

Another difference is at the ankles: the EU Vented trousers feature elasticated ankles, a design choice made to suit preferences in the European market.

The four large rear ventilation panels are constructed from 300g military-grade polyamide mesh, strategically positioned to maximise airflow without compromising protection. The mesh allows air to circulate continuously, keeping you cooler during intense work whilst maintaining the structural integrity and safety standards of the trousers.

These trousers are specifically engineered for hot-weather and high-output work environments. Whilst they provide full protection year-round, they excel in warm climates and during physically demanding tasks. The trousers feature a looser leg profile by design to encourage natural airflow, making them ideal for hot climates and high-output work. If you’re used to the Breatheflex Pro or Freestyle fit, we recommend sizing down. The Vented trousers are intentionally cut with a looser profile to maximise airflow, which in turn helps keep you cooler during high‑output work.

The cargo pockets use Velcro closures to keep the trousers as lightweight as possible. While zips may not seem heavy on their own, every added component contributes to overall weight. The Velcro‑secured flap also performs better for climbers, offering quicker access and less interference when moving in a harness.

They’re purpose-built with climbers in mind. The extra stretch crotch panel supports dynamic movement in the canopy, the downward-facing YKK pocket zips give easy access while in a harness, and the elasticated bootlace hook keeps the trousers secure during aerial work.

While they can be used for light groundwork, they don’t feature the same level of heavy-duty reinforcement found on trousers designed specifically for intensive ground-based tasks.

We recommend machine washing at 30 degrees Celsius with mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Air dry away from direct heat and sunlight. The Kevlar-reinforced knees and mesh panels are designed for durability, but regular gentle care will extend the lifespan of your trousers. Do not tumble dry.
