Our Journey

From small beginnings to global reach, Arbortec has always been built on passion, innovation, and community.

The Arbortec story began in 1992 when two brothers, fresh from sixth form, started out selling an Italian range of safety footwear under the name Safeguy. In 1994, they opened their first trade counter, offering a mix of PPE and a small selection of outdoor clothing.

Between 1999 and 2010, steady growth and direct collaboration with tradespeople and outdoor professionals provided invaluable insight into market needs. This knowledge led to the founding of Arbortec Forestwear.

• 1992 - Fresh from sixth-form, two brothers started out selling an Italian range of safety footwear. This company was known as Safeguy.

• 1999 - 2010 - Steady growth and direct collaboration with tradespeople and outdoor professionals provided valuable insight into market needs - insight that led to the founding of Arbortec Forestwear.
• 2014 - Arbortec transformed the industry with the launch of the Breatheflex technical chainsaw trousers, the first to unite high-performance protection with vibrant, distinctive colours.
• 2017 - With demand outpacing supply, Arbortec took control of its own production by opening a dedicated factory in Portugal.
• 2021 - 2023 - The purchase of a new innovation centre and the relocation of distribution facilities cemented Arbortec’s position as an industry leader in the design, manufacture, and delivery of cutting-edge chainsaw apparel.
• 2025 - The opening of the world-class Arbortec Innovation Centre marks a new chapter: a hub driving product development, sustainability, and the future of chainsaw protection on a global scale.

In 2014, Arbortec transformed the chainsaw apparel industry with the launch of the Breatheflex technical chainsaw trousers, the first to combine high-performance protection with vibrant, distinctive colours. With demand continuing to grow, Arbortec opened its own dedicated factory in Portugal in 2017, securing greater control over production and innovation.

By 2021, Arbortec had purchased a new Innovation Centre and relocated its distribution facilities, cementing its position as an industry leader in the design, manufacture, and delivery of cutting-edge chainsaw apparel.

Looking ahead to 2025, Arbortec will open its world-class Innovation Centre, a hub designed to drive product development, sustainability, and the future of chainsaw protection on a global scale.
