Finding the right size for your Arbortec protective apparel and footwear is essential for comfort, safety and peak performance. 1. Trousers Size Charts

Below you will find detailed size charts for all our chainsaw protective trousers. Each table displays waist and leg length in centimetres and inches to help you select the ideal fit for Arborflex, Breatheflex, Breatheflex Pro, Freestyle, Realtree and Vented styles.

Waist
Measure around your natural waistline at the level where your trousers normally sit ensuring the tape remains horizontal all the way round.

Leg Length
From your crotch point measure down the inside of your leg to the ankle bone.

Low Hip-Thigh
Measure around the widest part of your hips, which is typically 18 to 20 centimetres below your waist. Then measure around the fullest part of your upper thigh for a comfortable fit through the leg.

Understand the main differences between Arbortec Trousers

Difference between Breatheflex Women's and Men's chainsaw trousers fitting:

When it comes to the fit of our women’s chainsaw trousers, there are some key differences compared to our men’s range. In the standard Breatheflex Women’s trousers, the rise is shorter, meaning they sit lower on the waist for a more flattering fit. The leg is also more tapered and narrower from the thigh down, and the leg length is 3 centimetres shorter than the men's regular version.

The hips are cut wider to suit female shaping, while the waist is similar in smaller sizes but becomes narrower from size M upwards to follow the natural female form.

Breatheflex Pro Women’s Fit
The Breatheflex Pro Women’s trousers are tailored specifically for a high-performance fit. They sit higher on the natural waistline for added comfort and security, with defined shaping through the hips and a narrower waist profile. This design offers a more ergonomic and supportive fit that moves with the body while maintaining a streamlined silhouette.

Difference between the Breatheflex and the Breatheflex Pro trousers fitting:

While both trousers share identical leg length and waist width, the Breatheflex Pro offers a sleeker silhouette with a slimmer thigh that tapers down to the ankle.

This results in an overall narrower leg, coupled with a lower rise that rests comfortably on the lower waist. One of the standout features of the Breatheflex Pro is its improved fit, as the reduced fabric around the thigh to ankle area and lower positioning on the waist prevent any excess fabric in the crotch area. This results in a polished, modern fit that combines style and functionality seamlessly.

Difference between the Breatheflex Pro and the Freestyle trousers fitting:

The difference between our Breatheflex Pro trousers and Freestyle lies in their unique characteristics. Both styles share a comparable rise, sitting comfortably on the lower waist. However, the Freestyle trousers stand out with their distinct feature of offering more room around the thighs.

The rest of the leg on the Freestyle shows a slimmer profile, the combination of a spacious thigh area and a sleeker leg summarises the essence of the Freestyle trousers, blending comfort and contemporary design.

2. Tops & Jackets

Chest
Wrap a flexible tape under your arms around the fullest part of your chest keeping the tape level and snug without constricting.

Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the bust while keeping the tape level across the back. This is particularly useful when selecting jackets, smocks and tops designed for women.

Sleeve Length
Measure from the top of your shoulder down to your wrist, following the natural curve of your arm.

3. Boots Size Chart

Our chainsaw rated boots are available in UK US and EU sizes. Use the foot length and width measurements from our Measuring Guide to find the correct size. If you fall between sizes we recommend choosing the larger size for comfort when wearing socks.

Foot Length
Stand with weight evenly distributed then measure from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe.

Foot Width
Measure across the widest part of your foot from one side to the other.

All Arbortec gloves are unisex. Consult the chart below using your hand circumference and hand length measurements to determine the correct glove size for optimum dexterity and protection.

Wrap the tape around your palm just below the knuckles excluding the thumb.

Hand Length
Measure from the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger.

5. Socks

Protective socks are listed in UK US and EU sizes. They are designed to fit comfortably under trousers and boots without bunching or restricting movement.

Low Socks
Low socks are ankle-height socks that sit just above the shoe line. They are ideal for everyday wear and casual work environments.

High Socks
High socks extend up to just below the knee. These are recommended for use with chainsaw boots to provide added comfort protection and support during extended wear.
